Meet Beth. She is one of the children who grew up in the CCC ministry and benefited from its services, which helped her become a responsible young woman full of hope for the future.
Beth joined CCC at the age of 11. She was born into a family of four children, the only girl among three brothers. At the age of five, Beth was living in Burundi with her parents during a time when the country was experiencing civil war. At this young age, she shared a bed with her mother while her father was away on a night shift as a security guard. One night, fighting broke out in their area, and a militia group fired shots that entered their room. Tragically, her mother, who was sleeping at the front of the bed, was shot and died instantly. It was a painful and traumatic experience for Beth. When her father was notified, he rushed home from work but found his wife already deceased.
After her mother's passing and the completion of the burial ceremonies, Beth remained with her father, but life was difficult. Her aunt later took her and her siblings to Uvira to stay with relatives. Beth lived with her aunt for three years, but during this time, she also lost her father. When CCC was selecting children to be cared for by the ministry, Beth was fortunate to be among those chosen to join the CCC family. At CCC, she received the basic necessities and support she had lost with her parents’ passing. She grew into a responsible and God-fearing young woman with renewed hope for the future.
Beth excelled in her education, consistently earning good grades throughout her primary and secondary schooling. After completing secondary school, she was awarded a college sponsorship from NCC Church, which allowed her to enroll at Hope Africa University in Bujumbura, Burundi. There, she pursued a bachelor's degree in entrepreneurship and studied for three years, graduating in February 2024 with second-class honors.
After her university graduation, Beth was employed by Motoskate Business in Uvira as an accountant, fulfilling her dream of giving back to the CCC ministry and her community. She is working diligently to help Motoskate Business grow, ensuring it makes a meaningful impact on both the ministry and the community. Her dedication and contributions are helping the business expand and provide more services.
We thank God for how far He has brought Beth and other CCC children. Once without hope, they now have a brighter future through His grace. Despite losing her parents and later the aunt who cared for her, God made a way for Beth to join CCC, where she was able to pursue her life goals. While at CCC, she was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the donors who have supported this young woman on her journey.
A quote by Beth: “It has been in my mind since I was young and being raised at CCC thinking on how I can be part of a team that can support CCC ministry to become self-sustaining, and now my dream has come true. Being part of the Motoskate team has given me the opportunity to serve and lead in the process of making CCC ministry economically dependent. Also, Motoskate has given me the opportunity to give back to the community and this makes me happy to be part of the team changing the past of my community.”
