Fueling Change, One Ride at a Time
Every motorcycle taxi we fund creates a job, puts food on the table, and strengthens the budgets of local orphanages and schools.
Motoskate: More than motorcycles
Motoskate Foundation is about more than motorcycles—it’s about freedom, opportunity, and resilience in the face of systemic exploitation. Eastern Congo is rich in minerals like cobalt and tantalum, essential for making microchips, video games, and cell phones. But instead of prosperity, these resources have fueled conflict, corruption, and human suffering. Outside forces destabilize the region, incentivizing large-scale exploitation and violence.
It’s easy to feel powerless in the face of such a global crisis, but there’s another way. Motoskate Foundation is proving that empowerment, not dependency, is the solution. Through business training, investment, and education, we are helping communities build lasting economic independence. Every motorcycle taxi we fund creates a job, provides food for a family, and supports local schools and orphanages.
By investing in sustainable development, education, and healthcare, we’re not just providing aid—we’re helping communities thrive on their own terms.

Building a Self-Sustaining Future in Eastern Congo
Motoskate Foundation focuses on sustainable business development in the Rugembe community of Uvira, South Kivu, Democratic Republic of Congo. For over a decade, we’ve worked alongside local educators, child care providers, and church leaders to strengthen economic and professional development in the region.
After years of partnership, we found our niche—helping Congo for Christ Ministries expand their impact through business ownership and training. By providing motorcycle taxis and business education, we equip local leaders with tools to grow self-sustaining businesses that fund education and orphan care.
As members of the Washington D.C. motorcycle community, we see this as an opportunity to bridge cultures and connect people through a shared love of motorcycles and economic empowerment.

Education: Investing in Future Leaders
Congo for Christ and the local church have provided life-changing educational opportunities to the Rugembe community, particularly to children orphaned by conflict. Our second major initiative is to extend that education beyond secondary school—funding college tuition for future leaders from the Congo for Christ Family Home and alumni of The Mango Tree School.
By investing in higher education, we’re not just supporting individual students—we’re strengthening a new generation of community builders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers who will shape the future of Eastern Congo.

More Than Conflict: A Story of Resilience
Eastern Congo has been at the center of resource-driven conflict for decades. Wars were once fought over salt because it was a scarce and valuable resource. With refrigeration, that conflict disappeared. Today, the demand for minerals fuels war, but the people of Eastern Congo refuse to let their future be defined by the struggles of their land.
Motoskate Foundation has joined defiant and thriving communities that refuse to be victims of mineral exploitation. We don’t fight with politics, advocacy, violence, or rebellion—we counter systemic injustice with love, peace, and community empowerment.
The result is strong individuals building strong communities. Those who once needed charity are now in a position to give it. Over time, they and the communities they support become less vulnerable to exploitation.

What is a Motoskate?
A Motoskate is motorcycle art made from skateboards, a fusion of two worlds that push creativity, performance, and community to new levels. Skateboards have long been a canvas for artistic expression, just as motorcycles unite people through innovation and adventure.
We want to bring that same creative energy to Eastern Congo, using motorcycles as a medium for freedom, beauty, and community-building across the globe.

Where It All Began: The Story Behind Motoskate
Motoskate Foundation was founded by Nik, a friend of the Congo for Christ community from the United States. At the time, Nik was working as a motorcycle porter and had a small side business called Nik Danger Designs, crafting motorcycle art from upcycled skateboards. These pieces could serve as skid plates, number plates, or fly screens—windshields that also protect speedometers from bugs.
Around the same time, Congo for Christ purchased their first motorcycle, a Boda Boda taxi, to transport a student with polio to school. When Nik heard how they were using the Boda Boda not just for transport but also as a part-time taxi to offset costs, the idea clicked.
What if more motorcycles could mean more jobs, more income, and more resources for the community?
He realized that the global motorcycle community might rally behind this simple yet powerful concept—that a single motorcycle could change lives by providing economic independence and mobility.

Motorcycles, Skateboards, and a Shared Vision
The Congo for Christ team in Eastern Congo loved the idea. They saw how motorcycles could fuel economic freedom and how skateboards, a symbol of creativity and rebellion, could unite different cultures in a shared mission of empowerment.
That’s what Motoskate Foundation is all about: the incredible things that happen when people from different backgrounds, different languages, and different passions come together with a singular focus—caring for others.
Among all the choices you have to impact the world, supporting Motoskate Foundation is a direct, tangible way to stand alongside brothers and sisters on the front lines of one of the greatest human rights challenges of our time.
Join the ride. Support the movement. Be part of the story.
